It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jane Frances Haas announces her passing from the Green Bay Health Centre, Springdale, NL, on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at the age of 85 years.

Jane was born in Brent's Cove, NL on April 17, 1940 to James and Winifred Corbett. Later in life she married Gregory Haas. Jane had 8 children. During her life she worked as a nursing assistant, store owner and a fish plant worker. Jane loved a good game of cards, playing bingo and spending time with family and friends. She loved her regular phone calls and video chats from her sisters, children, grand kids and great grandchildren. In her final days these interacts were short and sweet, however she truly enjoyed each and everyone of them.

Jane was predeceased by her husband, Gregory Haas; son, Terry Haas; parents, James and Winifred Corbett; parents-in-law, Ethel and James Haas; siblings, Mary Miller (Matt), Philomena Hedderson (Ron), Margaret Sullivan (Jeremiah), Theresa Sullivan (Francis), Jack Corbett (Margaret), Edward Corbett (Bernice).

She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children, Eddie (Diane), Loretta (Maurice), Randy (Wavey), Marlene (Jerome), Connie (Steve), Gregory (Brenda), Garry (Hilda), Terry (Helena); grand-kids, Laura-Lee, Amanda, Pam, Brian, Hilary, Brent, Jasmine, Cody, Taylor, Madison, Josh, Tell; great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Lincoln, Chloe, Emma, Colin, Emma, Gregory, Olivia, Richard; sisters, Annie Haas, Joanna Clance; close family and friends, Alice Sullivan, Madeline Haas.

Special thanks extended to the staff at the Providential Living Retirement Home, Baie Verte, NL and the staff at the Green Bay Health Centre in Springdale for their loving care of our mom. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place.

The public visitation will take place Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM  from St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Brent's Cove , NL.

The Rosary and Wake Service will take place on Thursday, April 9 2026 from  St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Brent's Cove, NL at 7:00 PM

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, April 10, 2026  from St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Brent's Cove, NL at 2:00 PM.  Interment will take place at a later date.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.
