It is with broken hearts that the family of the late James Patrick Shelley announces his passing. James passed away from the Baie Verte Peninsula Heath Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at the age of 85 years.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories is his wife of 62 years, Mary Ann Shelley, Fleur de Lys, NL; children, Roxanne Bussieres (Gordon), Alberta, John Shelley, Ontario and Lucille Moore (Darren), Alberta; son-in-law, Byron Rideout; grandchildren, Sabrina (Richard), Samantha, Connor, Keenan, Kylie and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Austin, Lewis, Lincoln and Darla; siblings, Lizzy Lewis, Bill Shelley, Josephine Traverse, Pad Shelley (Sheila) and Tom Shelley (Cindy); siblings-in-law, Minni Shelley and Philamine Shelley, along with a large number of extended family and many friends.

James is predeceased by his daughter, Dine Rideout; grandson, Caden Holden; parents, Stephen and Lucy Shelley; siblings, Angela Drover (Pad), Gerard Shelley and Steven Shelley; siblings-in-law, George Lewis, Marg Shelley and Jack Traverse.

Father Camillus Ekedobe conducted a Mass of Christian Burial from St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, Fleur de Lys, NL on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at a later date. Masks should be worn when not seated and can be removed while seated.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in James' memory to Canadian Cancer Society, Newfoundland and Labrador Division, 70 Ropewalk Ln, St. John's, NL A1B 3R9.
