It is with sadness that the family of the late James Joseph O'Reilly announces his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, aged 96 years.

James leaves to mourn with loving memories his children, Anthony (Tony) (Kathy), Maureen (Tom), Stephen (Holly), & Sean, (Vanessa); grandchildren, Dana. Steven, Darren, Bradley, Shayne & Jordan; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, John (Mary); as well as nieces, nephews, relatives and friends

James is predeceased by his wife Margaret; parents, William & Alice O'Reilly; grandson, Ronan; siblings, Rita, Monica, Bill, Marie, & Theresa.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place

The public visitation will take place Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL

The Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, 8A church Road, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.

Interment will take place at a later date.

The O'Reilly Family would like to thank the staff at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre for the care and support provided for James final hours.

Dad was a man of integrity to all who knew him. He built his own house to raise a wonderful family. A papermaker, poet, lover of music, traveller, mentor, and long-term retiree. His legacy stands because of the foundation he built with the love he shared for his wife and children.
