Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of the late James "Paul" Burt announces his passing, March 5, 2026 at the Lionel Kelland Hospice, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL aged 57 years.

Paul will be remembered for his kind and thoughtful nature and the quiet way he cared for the people around him. Paul found joy in life's simple moments. Whether it was sharing a meal, spending time outdoors, or striking up a conversation with someone new, he had a way of making people feel comfortable and welcome. He was often the first to introduce himself and get to know his neighbors, forming friendships wherever life took him. Camping was one of Paul's favourite pastimes, and he often said that food tasted better when it was cooked outside. He loved a good spread of finger foods and could always be counted on to light up when triangle sandwiches appeared or when he had the chance to enjoy Jim's fries with gravy. Paul was also well known for his sweet tooth, especially when it came to lemon pie. More than anything, Paul was a loving and proud father. His son was the center of his world, and he took great pride in the young man he has grown to be. Paul also shared a life long friendship with his wife, Angela, who remained one of his closest companions and confidantes from the time they were teenagers. Their bond, full of trust, laughter, and shared memories, was a constant in both their lives.

Paul leaves to mourn his beloved son, Ethan, his wife, Angela; siblings, Graham (Triffie), Jackie, and Michelle; a large number of nieces, nephews, extended family & friends. He will also be fondly remembered by many friends, neighbors, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Though he may be gone, the love and pride Paul had for his son, and the friendships he cherished, will live on forever in the memories and moments shared.

He was predeceased by his parents, Reginald & Helen Burt; brother, Brian.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place.
