It is with broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our loving mother, Ivy Burton, who went to meet our Lord on Wednesday, December 15th, 2021. Surrounded by her family, Ivy passed at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre at age 77.

Ivy was born in Pacquet, Newfoundland, to the late Mary and William Sacrey, on June 18th, 1944, as the 2nd youngest of nine. Ivy was blessed with a large and loving family, marrying the love of her life, Harry Burton, on October 4, 1960. Harry and Ivy spent 46 wonderful years together, raising their six children with so much love. Ivy was a passionate woman who spent her life devoted to her family and God.

Predeceased by her husband - Harry Burton; parents - Mary and William Sacrey; siblings - Lucy Warrick (Raymond), Gilbert Sacrey (Herma), Augustus Sacrey, and Frank Sacrey (Margaret); parents-in-law – Job and Sarah Burton; siblings-in-law – infant child – Austin Burton, Shirley Sacrey, Gilbert Brent, Raymond Burton (Lily), Evelyn Grant, Edna Spencer (Fred), Mildred Vaters (Fred).

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are her children - Diane Philpott (Don), Pauline Dyer (Lewis), Ena Spears (Garth), Austin Burton (Crystal), Trixie Buckley (Dan) and Nadine Stuckless (Nevin). Loving Nanny to April Anstey (Lance), Jenny Dyer (Jamie), Blair Burton (Emily), Ralph Philpott (Kristen), Sarah Mitchell-Bush (Jay), Myah Burton, Alex Burton, Skye Spears, Amy Mitchell, Emma Stuckless, Ethan Stuckless, Quinn Nemechek, Jade Nemechek, Katie Buckley (Greg) and Kyle Buckley. Great-grandmother to Parker and Andrew Anstey, Kayden and Jacob Burton, Justice, Logan and Karis Philpott, and Sophia and Jacob Fraser; siblings – Melissa Parsons (Carl), Clarence Sacrey (Margaret), Charlie Sacrey and Mabel Brent; siblings-in-law – Clarence Grant and Annie Sacrey, as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

Ivy's family received family and friends from 2:00-4:00PM and 7:00-9:00PM at the Harvest Time Pentecostal Assembly, Pacquet, NL on Thursday, December 16th, 2021.

A following service honouring Ivy's life was held at the Harvest Time Pentecostal Assembly, Pacquet, NL on Friday, December 17th, 2021 at 2:00PM. Interment followed at Harvest Time Pentecostal Cemetery, Pacquet, NL.

The family would like to thank everyone involved with the excellent care that Ivy received at the White Bay Retirement Home, and Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre.

As expressions of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Ivy's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
