It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Ida Marion Parsons (Roberts) announces her passing at Baie Verte Peninsula Health Center on Wednesday March 20, 2024.

Ida was a mother figure to many and well known for her kind heart and beautiful smile. Those who met her quickly learned to love her. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, cherished sister, special aunt, dedicated worker and special friend to many.

She always had a vibrant smile, loved a good belly laugh and road trips with anyone willing to take her, especially if ice cream was involved. Her most passionate hobby was gardening and love for flowers.

Left with a lifetime of loving memories are her children, Lola Canning (Kirby), Claudia Burton (Steve), Chad Parsons (Charmaine), Rhonda Haick (Richard), Jason Parsons, Justin Parsons (Cara); her precious grandchildren, Ashley Penney (Desmond), Hilary Blackler (Jonathan), Bethany Canning (Nick Rowe), Britany Parsons (Taylor), Rebecca Reid (Nick), Brooke Karn, Garrett Parsons, Liam Karn, Emily Parsons, Ryker Parsons (mother Alisha Zoethout); step-granddaughters, Hannah Hammond and Amanda McNevin, Caiya Mace; precious  great-grandchildren, Ashlynn and Greyson Reid; bonus grandchildren, Ian and Sky Penney, Jayla and Jordyn Rowe; cherished siblings, Hubert Roberts (Faye), Winnie Winsor (Ernest), Rose Ryan (Carl), Stella Weir (Gus), Ray Roberts, Max Roberts, Denise Guthro (Glen), Milton Roberts (Deanne), and a large circle of family and friends.

Ida was predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Rita Roberts; loving husband, Claude Parsons; granddaughters, Alisha Canning and Maggie Parsons.

Heartfelt thanks to the many people and special friends who crossed her path and contributed in any way to positively influence her life. The many Facebook friends who prayed and supported her through her cancer journey.

Special thanks to the staff of White Bay Retirement Living and Baie Verte Peninsula Health Center for your care and compassion especially in the past six months of her rapid decline.

Public visitations will take place from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Baie Verte, NL on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.

The Home going service will be held at Trinity Pentecostal Church Baie Verte on Saturday, March 23 at 11am, officiated by Pastor Wayne Baker.

Pallbearers will be Hubert Roberts, Chad Parsons, Justin Parsons, Steve Burton, Kirby Canning, Desmond Penney.

Committal will follow at the lnterfaith Cemetery, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL next to her beloved husband.

As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations may be made in Ida's memory to a charity of one's choice.
