It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Hilda Mary (Jones) Payne announces her passing. Hilda passed peacefully away at her family home in Baie Verte, NL on Saturday, May 8th, 2021, surrounded by her precious family. Hilda was just 61 years of age.
Hilda is predeceased by her babies - Myles Payne, Brian Payne and Ashley Payne; parents - Anthony and Elizabeth Jones; parents-in-law - William and Clara Payne.
Left with fond and loving memories is her husband - Joseph Payne, Baie Verte, NL; daughter – Kayla Payne (Jeremy Martin), Baie Verte, NL; grandchildren - Jayden and Kaydance Payne, Baie Verte, NL; siblings - Madeline Jones (Bern), Leonie Matthews (Gerald), Johnny Jones (Stache), Rose Jones (Jim), Debbie Jones (Gord), Jackie Stuckless (Morley), Carmelita Matthews (Barry), Bernie Jones (Florence), Laurel Jones (Anthony); special second mother - Irene Payne-Skinner (Gerard); special sister - Lori Ann Johnson and her brothers; nurse, friend and sister - Stefina Payne (Anthony); siblings-in-law - Aloysius Payne (Elaine), Ed Payne and Jeanette Payne; special home care worker - Andrea Jacobs, as well as a larger circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, work friends, sewing friends, and many people who have met her along the way.
Public Visitation took place from Foster Funeral Home, Baie Verte, NL on Tuesday, May 11th, 2021 from 2:00-4:00PM and 7:00-9:00PM, following specific guidelines pertaining to the global pandemic and associated restrictions.
Father Camillus Ekedobe conducted a Private Family Mass of Christian Burial from St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Baie Verte, NL on Wednesday, May 12th, 2021. Interment followed from St. Pius X Roman Catholic Cemetery, Baie Verte, NL.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations may be made in Hilda's memory the Janeway Children's Hospital Foundation.
