Obituary

It is with much sadness that the family of Harold Clyde Hunter announces his passing in his 87 th year.

He was born and raised in Burnside, Bonavista Bay, and worked in various positions with Canadian National Railway/Terra Transport with postings in Windsor, Sydney, Corner Brook and Grand Falls.  Since his retirement, he lived in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL with treasured summer living in Burnside. He had an amazing memory and was a great story teller, either using his long time hobby of amateur radio, with his family and friends, or when talking to total strangers in the mall.

Clyde cherished and was equally loved by his wife of 66 years, Breta.  He also leaves behind his three children, Judy (Tony), Monty (Andrea) and Mark (Ellen Beth); grandchildren, Natalie, Colin, Madeline, Mandy & Tony; and a long list of treasured friends and neighbors. Clyde had a special connection with great grandchild Chloe.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jarvis and Violet Hunter and brother Valence.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor, especially on Unit 4A, for their help and compassion.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held in his favorite place in the world, Burnside, at a date to be announced later.
