It is with sadness that the family of the late Harold George Higdon, formally of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, announces his passing at the Lions Manor Seniors Home, Placentia, NL, aged 96 years.

Left to mourn son, Roger; daughter, Heather; sisters, Florence (Bert) and Cherry; as well as a circle of relatives and friends.

Predeceased by his loving wife, Gladys Vera; daughter, Linda; grandson, Devin, Mom and Dad (Arthur and Mariah). His sisters, Elizabeth, Winnifred and Edna. His brothers, Reginald, Arthur and Colin.

Harold worked with the NL Power most of his adult life. He started working in Corner Brook and retired in Grand Falls Windsor. A good portion of his work was linesman where he developed leg strength and his need for walking later in life. He was known around town as the man who did all the walking. He was an avid fisherman (trout) and loved picking berries (blueberries). His favourite spots for both are still secret to this day. His love for anything wood was apparent by the wood products behind his house on Grenfell Heights. He wasn't keen on chainsaws; he preferred the old bucksaw. His devotion to his religion was apparent over the years. When he could, he would attend the Evangel Pentecostal Church on Grenfell Heights. He will be missed by all who knew him. As a man who worried a lot; he is now worry free alongside his wife Gladys. Rest peacefully Dad.

There will be no public visitation or funeral service at this time.  A celebration of life service will take place at a later date.
