Gregory Martin
Terry
Apr 2, 1948 — Jun 12, 2024
Baie Verte
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Gregory Martin Terry announces his passing from the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Tuesday, June 12, 2024, aged 76 years.
Greg was born on April 2, 1948 to Leo and Ellen Terry in St. Patrick's, NL. Greg met his wife, Mary, in St. Patrick's in 1971, married in 1972, and became proud parents of three children.
Greg completed three different programs from post-secondary institutions; he became a jack-of-all trades. His main purpose was to provide for his family. Through the years he adapted, facing all challenges, to ensure the safety and security of his family and those whom he held dear.
Over the years he mastered fly fishing, loving to put a line in the water in "Greg's Pond".
Through his many "collections" of knick knacks he could provide friends and neighbours with "anything" they might need, never expecting anything in return. A smile, a thank you and brief conversation was more payment than this gentle, humble soul ever expected or wanted.
As a father, he could take the smallest things and create something so huge. All he wanted was to have happy children, happy grandchildren – good people.
He couldn't have been more proud in his quiet, humble way.
Left with a lifetime of precious memories is his wife of 51 years, Mary ; children, Gregory Terry Jr. (Brenda), Barbara Terry and Maria Terry (BJ Hicks); grandchildren, Jacob, Liam, James, Johanna, Melodi, Maxwell and Jadyn; siblings, Frances Broderick (Tom), Shirley Rogers (Lawson), Jerome Terry (Loretta), Mary Broderick (Bill), Raymond Terry (Lorraine), Don Terry, Ted Terry (Joan), Eileen Terry, Christina Blundon, Mark Terry (Isabel), Debbie Terry, Judy Terry (Colin), Keith Terry (Karen) and Anthony Terry (Terrilynn); brothers-in-law, Vincent Seward and Brian Stuckless, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many, many friends.
Gregory is predeceased by his parents, Leo and Ellen Terry; sister, Rosella Stuckless; two infant siblings; parents-in-law, Vincent Sr. and Ellen Seward; brother-in-law, Kevin Seward.
