Gordon Stanley Pennell's Obituary
It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Gordon Stanley Pennell announces his passing. Gordon passed away at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Monday, June 22nd, 2020 at the age of 86 years.
Predeceased by his loving wife - Verna Pennell (1998); parents - Stanley & Margaret Pennell; parents-in-law - Edwin & Mima Dicks; siblings - Alvina Pinsent and Eric Pennell; niece - Grace Pennell-Collins and siblings-in-law - Regina (Doll) Pennell and John Goyer.
Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are his daughters - Cathy Alyward (Mick), Baie Verte, NL and Lisa Foster (Charles), Saskatoon, SK; grandchildren - Christopher Alyward (Joanne), Fort McMurray, AB, Jeff Alyward (Georgia), Calgary, AB, Lindsay Foster (Finn), John Foster (Chelsea) and David Foster, all of Sasktoon, SK; great-grandchildren - Henry & Evelyn Alyward; siblings - Larry Pennell, Louise Goyer, Maxwell Pennell (Irene), Joan Holmes (Tony), Olive Cullihall (Lloyd), Linda Pennell and Sean Pennell; siblings-in-law - Mona Goodyear (Merrill), Dave Pinsent and Sylvia Pennell as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family would like to extended a a sincere thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre for their loving care and a big thank you to the staff and residents of the White Bay Retirement Centre where he resided for the last 6 months.
Due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, the Public Health Advisory and associated restrictions, we regret to announce that there will be no Public Visitation. Father Camillus Ekedobe conducted a Private Family Funeral Service.
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gordon's memory to a charity of one's choice.
"Miss me a little but not too long and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we all shared, miss me, but let me go!"
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Foster Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.
