Gerard Michael
Carey
Oct 8, 1953 — Sep 7, 2025
Grand Falls-Windsor
It is with sadness that the family of the late Gerard Michael Carey announces his passing at his residence in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, aged 71 years.
Gerard spent most of his adult life living in Saint John, New Brunswick, where he worked for Kent Building Supplies for a number of years, as well as Home Hardware in Saint John. After returning home to Grand Falls-Windsor, Gerard continued working with Home Hardware in his hometown until he retired a few years ago.
Anyone who knew Gerard knew of his deep passion for hockey, especially the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts, of whom he was a devoted fan. Season after season, he proudly held his seat at the Joe Byrne Arena, never missing a chance to cheer on his team when they played on home ice.
For those who spent time with Gerard, it was no secret that he loved to talk—especially about hockey. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, about almost anything. He also cherished his daily visits to Tim Hortons for his coffee, a simple routine that brought him joy.
Gerard's children Lindsey and Joey were his pride and joy of his life. He loved them dearly, and he adored his grandson Logan. They will always be in his heart. He will be their angel watching over them forever. Gerard will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
We will love and miss you forever, Gerard.
Gerald leaves to mourn his children, Joey (Ika) Carey & Lindsay Carey; grandson, Logan' siblings, Lisa (Jim) Follett, Lloyd (Catherine) Carey, Randy (Velma) Carey, & Dennis Carey; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
Gerald is predeceased by his parents, Joseph & Minnie Carey; siblings, Marilyn Lane, Janice Caravan, & Infant sister, Barbara.
Cremation has taken place.

REMEMBER ME
Don't remember me with sadness,
don't remember me with tears,
Remember all the good times,
Shared throughout the years.
Now I am contented
That my life was worthwhile,
Because I know by loving you
That I made you smile.
When you are walking down the street
And you've got me on your mind
I'm walking in your footsteps
Only half a step behind.
So please don't be unhappy
Just because I'm out of sight,
Remember that I am with you
Every morning, noon and night.
