It is with broken hearts that the family of the late George Clayton Kelly announces his passing from the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the age of 67 years.
Geoge was born in Burlington, NL on July 12, 1955 to his parents, Sidney and Blanche Kelly In later years after a short courtship, he met and fell in love with his wife, Doreen. Together they shared a full life with their son, Scotty. George was the second eldest of 11 siblings and the one child who was quite the firecracker. He was well known by many and no matter who you were, George was there for you to chat, listen and lend a helping hand where he could. The love and endless devotion that he had for his family was also very prominent in the work that he did for his community.
George is predeceased by his parents, Sidney and Blanche Kelly; brothers, Chesley, Malcome and baby Kelly; parents-in-law, George and Myrtle Banks; brothers-in-law, Clyde Banks and Clarence Eveleigh.
Left to mourn is his lovely wife of 41 years, Doreen; son, Scotty (Vanessa), special niece, Brooklyn; siblings, Ralph (Bertha), Larry (Pauline), Guy (Maxine), Morris (Jo-Ann), Edna (Keith), Verna (Jamie), Paul (Cheryl), Dean (Natasha) and Tony (Amy); sister-in-law, Louise; siblings-in-law, Mona Wells (Dan), Shirley Eveleigh, Francis Banks (Dulcie), Howard Banks (Rose), Bert Banks (Mona), Wayne Banks (Sandra) and Rowena Hamlyn (Lloyd), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Public visitation took place from Faith Pentecostal Church, Burlington, NL on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm. The family has requested that masks be worn at all times during visitation.
Funeral Service took place from Faith Pentecostal Church, Burlington, NL on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 2pm. The family has requested that masks be worn at all times by all attending. Interment followed from Riverside United Cemetery, Burlington, NL.
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist the family.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.
