It is with sadness that the family of the late Gary David Wicks announces his passing. Gary passed peacefully away at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Gary leaves to mourn with loving memories his siblings, Nancy (Larry) Hynes, Cindy (Rick) Beson, Peter Wicks, Denise (Norman) Healey, Dennis (Karen) Wicks, Darren (Marie) Wicks, Agnes Wicks, Todd (Ruby) Wicks; as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Gary is predeceased by his parents, Edward & Leona Wicks; brothers, Wayne & Ray.

Gary worked at Cluney's Scrap Metals for a number of years. Gary loved his family and our family gatherings where he knew a scoff would be had.  Gary was well known in his community and he would be seen walking or riding his bicycle and stopping to chat with people along the way. Gary never missed a Friday meal of Mary Brown's.  Gary was also a very proud member of the Special Olympics, a Provincial Bocce Champion as well as Provincial and National Curling Champion. Gary made lot of friends and enjoyed it to the fullest. Gary's favorite sport was bowling he had two special friends Jeffery Mercer and Brandon Fewer who were his teammates from the start.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Lori Kenny his Community Nurse and Provincial Home Care who provided exceptional care.

The public visitation will take place Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.

The funeral service will take place Friday, January 27, 2023 at 11 am from St. Joseph's Parish, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.
