Obituary

It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Garry Miller announces his passing from the Central Newfoundland Ragional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Sunday, November 19, 2023, aged 66 years.

Garry was born in Port Rexton and grew up in Old Bonaventure – playing with friends, fishing, skidooing, hunting and camping.  As a young man he travelled out West for work and adventure.  Garry held various jobs and was very skilled in all; carpentry, glazing, and a cook.  His heart truly belonged to the to the island and he moved back to Old Bonaventure before settling in St. John's.  He continued to work as a Glazier and took specialized training to become the best in Eastern Canada. Garry worked on a lot of large commercial buildings in and around St. John's and different parts of the island.

In recent years, he moved to Westport where he was welcomed with open arms and loved by many. A special thank you to Wanda Jacobs; she was his care provider for over four years and became like family. And many thank you's to his other support workers who provided him with their compassionate care.

Garry is survived by his children, Kaley Hillas (Leigh) and Matthew Miller (Diana) and his nieces and nephews.

Garry was predeceased by his parents, Arthur William Miller and Josephine (nee Toope), his brothers, Don and Calvin Miller and his long time partner, Pauline Jane White.

In keeping with Garry's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation or funeral service.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.
