It is with immense sorrow that the family of the late Ferne Mitchell announces her passing. Ferne passed away at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Sunday, November 14th, 2021 at the age of 58 years.

Ferne is predeceased by her parents-in-law – Clarence & Effie Mitchell; brother-in-law – Pat Hollohan.

Left with fond and loving memories is her husband – Derek Mitchell, Burlington, NL; children – Hayley Mitchell (Cody Ledrew), Flat Waters, NL, Marcus Mitchell (Kristin Budgell), Burlington, NL & Jenna Mitchell, Burlington, NL; honorary grandchildren – Paisley, Nora & Kendall; parents – Fred & Tephi Saunders; siblings – Alonzo Saunders (Gayla), Wavey Mills (Chris) & Karen Norman (Eldon); siblings-in-law – Chloe Gillingham (Wilbert), Edna Burdon (Hayward), Pauline Smith (Clyde), Marjorie Newbury (Eric) & Guy Mitchell (Pansy), along with a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many, many friends.

Public Visitation took place at Faith Pentecostal Church, Burlington, NL on Wednesday, November 17th, 2021 from 7:00-9:00PM.

Pastor Craig Lane conducted the Funeral Service at Faith Pentecostal Church, Burlington, NL on Thursday, November 18th, 2021 at 2:00PM. Interment followed at Faith Pentecostal Cemetery, Burlington, NL.

As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations may be made in Ferne's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, Newfoundland and Labrador Division, 70 Ropewalk Lane, St. John's, NL A1B 3R9.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Foster Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.
