It is with great sadness that the family of the late Evelyn Alma Canning announces her passing at the Carmelite House, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL aged 84 years.

Evelyn was born on August 23, 1938 in Windsor, NL to Leander & Emily Froude and was raised in Windsor, NL. On April 17, 1967 she married Reginald Canning of Newstead, NL. Together they were blessed with 3 lovely boys – David, Robert & Garry. However, after only 13 years of marriage life, Evelyn suddenly became widowed and left with a family to raise. From thereon, life brought many hardships and times were often hard and severe. But, Evelyn with her strong determination and pleasant spirit fought it through and watched them become men with their own families and men she was proud of. Evelyn gave her life back to God in 1968 and loved her Lord and devoted herself to the Home League and became a faithful member of the Grand Falls Citadel Corps. She will be greatly missed for her devoted service to The Salvation Army. Evelyn was a very caring person and through all her hardships, she still found it easy to give to others and go the extra mile for someone in need.
