She is also survived by her brother: Bart Rice (Linda); sisters-in-law: Hazel Banks, and Laura Rice as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
Joan was predeceased by the love of her life, husband Edmund Banks; parents Cyril and Winnie Rice; parents-in-law William and Annie Banks; brothers: Pleaman, Wilfred, Gordon, Albert, and Ernest Rice; sister Anita Rice; brothers-in-law: Alfred, Peirce, and Elikiam Banks, and Sidney Rice; sisters-in-law: Jessie Banks, Joan Rice, and Carmel Downey; and nephews: Tony, and Wade Rice.
The family would like to thank the incredible staff at Valley Vista Seniors Complex in Springdale, NL for taking such wonderful care of Joan over the last year. Your patience, kindness, and dedication to caring for her will never be forgotten.
