Emma Louise Viola Foster (Mills) passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord on Saturday July 18th, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and upheld by the faith that guided her entire life. Emma was the beloved wife of Raymond Pearce Foster, with whom she shared 73 years of marriage—a partnership marked by devotion, hard work, and unwavering commitment to family and faith.

Born in Burlington, NL, Emma was the cherished daughter of Lloyd and Fanny Mills. She grew up in a large, close‑knit family and was predeceased by husband Raymond and her parents and siblings Mercedes, Gertie, Steward, Olive, and Clifford. She leaves behind two surviving sisters, Annie and Lillian, who continue to carry the family's treasured memories.

Emma is also predeceased by her sons‑in‑law Randolph Pardy and Earl Kelly, both of whom she loved dearly and remembered often.

In 1952, Emma married Raymond, and together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and strong Christian values. They raised eight children who were the joy of her life: Golda (George Goodzeck), Audrey Pardy, Sandra Kelley, Lloyd Foster (Diane), Christine (Wallace Noble), Daphne (Wayne Robinson), Lindsey Foster (Kimberley), and Danny Foster (Felica). Emma delighted in her 20 grandchildren, 31 great‑grandchildren, and 6 great‑great‑grandchildren, celebrating each one as a gift from God.

Emma was known for her gentle spirit, her servant's heart, and her unwavering commitment to others. She was a wonderful mother, always putting her family first. Her home was a place of warmth, welcome, and hospitality—every meal prepared with love, every visitor greeted with kindness. She was an excellent homemaker, a faithful friend, and a loyal follower of Christ whose quiet strength shaped generations.

Emma also possessed an extraordinary memory for family events—birthdays, anniversaries, milestones, and special occasions. She remembered everything. She was the family's connector, the one who kept everyone linked, celebrated, and informed. Her ability to hold the family together through her thoughtful remembrance and gentle communication is a gift that will be impossible to replace.

Her faith was not loud, but it was deep. Emma lived out the gospel in the everyday rhythms of life—through compassion, generosity, and steadfast devotion to her church and community. She supported Raymond and the full family in every season of life, standing beside them with grace and resilience. Emma was a faithful supporter of her home church in Burlington, where she was a member of the women's group for many decades. In her final season of life, she resided in Middle Arm with her daughter Christine and son‑in‑law Wallace.

Emma has now inherited her eternal reward, reunited with her beloved Raymond and the many family members who have gone before her. Her legacy is one of love, faith, and quiet strength. She will be remembered for her gentle hands, her kind words, her warm smile, and the way she made every person feel valued.

Though she is no longer with us, her influence remains—woven into the lives of her children, grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her. Her memory will forever be cherished.

Public visitation will take place from Faith Pentecostal Church, Burlington, NL on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.

The funeral service will take place from Faith Pentecostal Church, Burlington, NL on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 1:30 pm, with Pastor Lindsey Foster & Pastor Trevor Deering officiating. Interment will follow from Faith Pentecostal Cemetery, Burlington, NL.
