It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Ellen Francis Hurley announces her peaceful passing from the Copper Crescent Long Term Care Facility, Baie Verte, NL on Saturday, February 3, 2024, aged 78 years.
Left with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her children, Jacqueline Hurley Foster (Blair), Ada Ford (Wish) and Brian Hurley (Kimmie); grandchildren, Matthew (Amy), Sandy (Bern), Joshua, Erica and Sammy; great-grandchildren, Sybil and Charli-Rae; siblings, Joan Marche (Patrick), Carmel Lane (Graham), Mark Freake and Valda Payne (Ray); special friends, Violet Traverse, Mavis McPherson and Chris Burton, as well as a large circle of siblings-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many friends.
Ellen is predeceased by her beloved husband, John Michael Hurley; precious son, Rhodie Hurley; infant son, Jimmy Hurley; parents, Leonard and Cecelia Freake; parents-in-law, Michael Hurley (Mary Kate) and Kathleen Traverse, as well as a large circle of siblings-in-law, and her special friends, Marie Drover and Anne Shelley.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place.
The Mass of Christian Burial will take place from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Coachman's Cove, NL on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 2 pm, with Father Anthony Aikins officiating. Interment will follow from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Cemetery, Coachman's Cove, NL.
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ellen's memory to the Janeway Children's Hospital Foundation DONATE HERE .
The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of the Copper Crescent Long Term Care Facility and White Bay Retirement Living for the constant care and compassion shown towards their mother. As well, a huge thank you to all her Stephenville friends who did so much for her over her years there. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.
