It is with sadness that the family of the late Eli Hibbs announces his passing at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Centre, Botwood, NL, aged 80 years.

Eli leaves to mourn with loving memories his wife, Mable; sons, Eli Jr. (Elimay), Derrick (Monica), Raymond (Ann), & Michael (Paula); daughters, Fronie (Harley), Pauline (John), Serena (Sidney), Josephine (Mike), & Joanne (Jerry); 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren; siblings, Marjorie, Mazie, Triffinea, Aubrey & Clarence; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Eli is precessed by his son, Rodney; granddaughter, Emily Chaytor; parents, Ruben & Agnes Hibbs; great-grandchildren, Oaklynn & Emerson; brother, Albert Hibbs.

Eli worked in the woods for a number of years, driving truck and skidder right up until he started getting sick and had to retire. The cabin was the love of his life where he spent many hours.  While in the woods, Eli loved fishing and rabbit catching. When at home his pass time was watching TV and enjoying wrestling and The Price is Right. Eli also enjoyed church music and playing his collection of cassette tapes.

The public visitation will take place December 26, 2023 at 7-9 pm from Botwood Funeral Home, 147 Commonwealth Drive, Botwood, NL.

The funeral service will take place December 27, 2023 at 1 pm from The Salvation Army Church, Peterview, NL, with Major Tina Dominaux officiating.

The interment will follow at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Peterview, NL.
