Eleanor Marie
Wimbleton
Jul 16, 1946 — Aug 7, 2024
Baie Verte
On August 7th, 2024 at the age of 78, Eleanor Marie has made her final transition into the Gloryland, to be reunited with her beloved Roy and other loved ones who had gone before her. Following a couple of very challenging months, with the onset of her strokes, her prayers have now been answered. While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering.
Eleanor married her husband Roy in 1965, they went on to have three beautiful children, whom they raised in Shoe Cove, NL. In 2001, Eleanor and Roy moved to Baie Verte, NL where they went on to play a huge role in their family's funeral home. In this calling is where Eleanor made so many friends and came to appreciate all denominations, along with their views and beliefs. These opportunities gave her a whole new perspective on life, death and the life thereafter.
Eleanor and Roy spent 58 wonderful years making many adventurous and special memories together, before Roy's passing in 2021. After Roy's passing, Eleanor's only true peace and contentment could be found in her love for the Lord and making sure to remind her family to "be ready". Eleanor had a thirst for Biblical knowledge and modelled her life after that.
In her early years, she had played an active role within the church; whether it was as a Sunday school teacher, a missionette leader, President of Women's Ministries, or simply volunteering wherever she could. Eleanor enjoyed food, friends and fellowship, and will forever be remembered for the many meals she had prepared for others. Often times, Roy could be seen standing in the window, watching to see who Eleanor was bringing home for a meal, or lunch after church; And Roy enjoyed it all, just as much as she did.
Eleanor loved her family and would make it a point to tell them she loved and appreciated them as often as possible; Most times, with a hug and a kiss in person or ending her many phone calls with "loves ya's all".
