It is with immense sorrow that the family of the late Edna Irene (Gray) Welshman announces her passing. Edna passed away from the Central Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at the age of 68 years.
Left to cherish a lifetime of memories is her husband of 50 years, Stewart Welshman, Shoe Cove, NL; children, Lori Payne (Darcy), Shoe Cove, NL, Lisa Abbott (Jamie), Labrador City, NL, Rodney Welshman (Cordella), Fort McMurray, AB and Cathy Morey (Rodney), Labrador City, NL; grandchildren, Tia (Tyler Baker), Robyn, Haley, Riley, Cassie, Nathan, Gavin, Julie and Isabella; great-granddaughter, Maisey; God-daughter, Kaitlin, special young lady, Megan; siblings, Marion Starkes (Ronald), Eileen Stuckless (Kevin), Ross Gray (Roxann), Sandra Gray (Martin Drover), Roxanne Lush (Gordon), Karen Burton (Dennis), Brian Gray (Flossie), Michelle Payne (Steadman), Cynthia Skinner (Arthur) and Peter Gray (Nancy); siblings-in-law, Rita Morey (Ray), Hector Welshman, June Morey (Roy), Roy Welshman (Nina) and Marcie Dicks (Pearce); special aunt, Margaret Foss, along with a large number of extended family and many friends.
Edna is predeceased by her parents, Dorman and Violet Gray; brothers, Elvis, George, Lloyd and Paul Gray; parents-in-law, Charles and Effie Welshman.
Public visitation took place from First United Church, Shoe Cove, NL on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 2:00-4:00PM and 7:00-9:00PM. In keeping with the COVID-19 guidelines, those attending the visitation must provide NLVaxPass or proof of vaccination + photo id to attend the visitation. Masks will also be mandatory.
Due to seating capacity limitations, Reverend Harry Oake conducted a Private Family Funeral Service from First United Church, Shoe Cove, NL on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 1:00PM. Those attending the service must provide NLVaxPass or proof of vaccination + photo ID. Masks will also be mandatory.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations may be made in Edna's memory to Daffodil Place, 70 Ropewalk Lane, St. John's, NL A1E 5T2.
