It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Dyson Terry Morey announces his passing from the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the age of 61 years.

Dyson was born and raised in La Scie, NL. The youngest child of Cluney and Eileen Morey. As he got older, he attended Trade School in Baie Verte in 1983. He then worked at the fish plant in La Scie before moving to Toronto in 1986. While in Ontario he worked as a machinist. He stayed in Ontario for many years, but finally returned to Newfoundland in 2003 and went fishing.

Dyson loved the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time in the woods, fishing, and having boil-ups on the camp fire. Being out in nature casting a line, having a fire, enjoying life meant the world to him. His four-wheeler was his main source of transportation, and he enjoyed it very much. In winter he also loved taking his skidoo out for a ride.

Dyson will be truly missed and forever loved by his family and friends.

Left with a lifetime of precious memories are his siblings, Guy Morey (Peggy), Stewart Morey (Sheila), Madelin Loder (Danny) and Elizabeth Andrews (Wayne); special friend, Theresa Matthews, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Dyson is predeceased by his parents, Cluney and Eileen Morey; step-father, George Wheeler; nephew, Jeffery Gray; brother-in-law, David Loder; grandparents, Fred and Harriet Morey and Frederick and Lenora Rice; special friend, Darrin Oake.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.

The funeral service took place from Zion United Church, La Scie, NL on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 1pm, with Reverend Harry Oake officiating. Interment followed from Zion United Cemetery, La Scie, NL.
