It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Derrick Regular announces his passing from his residence in Baie Verte, NL on Monday, July 22, 2024, aged 59 years.

Derrick was born in Baie Verte, NL on November 28, 1964 to Eileen and Albert Regular. Derrick was a bouncing baby boy, who shared his birthday with his twin sister, Doris. They were the first set of twins born at the Baie Verte Hospital.

In November 1989 Derrick met the love of his life, Cathy, who he later married on November 3, 1990 and they enjoyed 34 wonderful years together. Together they raised two children, Philip and Rebecca and on October 21, 2015 they were blessed with a grandson, Grayson, whom they cherished.

In his younger years, Derrick had many hobbies. You could find him at the pond trouting in his boat "Big Blue" that he built with his brother, Brian. He loved wood working, playing guitar and loved singing hymns from his Dad's song book.

Over the past couple years, Derrick enjoyed his game nights with friends and enjoyed cottage meetings with his church family.

Today we can rejoice in knowing that he is having a Heavenly reunion with his Dad, Mom and siblings.

Left with many fond and loving memories is his loving wife of 34 years, Cathy Regular; son, Philip (Samantha); daughter, Rebecca (Keith); grandson, Grayson; special grandpuppies, Thor, Loki and Rio; step-father, Arthur Richards; siblings, Christine Fudge (Bert), Eddie Regular, Doris Dort, Martina Ropson (Neil), Brian Regular (Marlene), Vanessa Morey (Jerry); parents-in-law, Don and Shirley Sacrey; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Regular, Ella Regular, Luanne Barrow (Ed) and Gaye Al (Tom); brothers-in-law, David Sacrey, Dennis Gray, and Todd Sacrey (Debbie); special home care workers, Jennifer Hancock, Trina Lewis and Pam Fitzgerald, as well as a large circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Derrick is predeceased by his parents, Albert and Eileen Regular; step-father, Henry Foster; siblings, Cordella Regular, Kerby Regular, Ruth Sacrey and Bonnie Gray; nephew, Matthew Al.

A special thank you to Exploits Home Care Agency and Darlene Blanchard, staff at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre and the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, the Paramedics and the Fire Department of Baie Verte. Special thanks to Josh Blanchard for supporting Cathy at this most difficult time. In addition, the family would like to thank everyone who helped in any way to alleviate their sorrow during the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Derrick Regular.

Public visitation will take place from Calvary Pentecostal Church, Ming's Bight, NL on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.

The funeral service will take place from Calvary Pentecostal Church, Ming's Bight, NL on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 11 am, with Pastor Ricardo Durdle officiating. Interment will follow from Calvary Pentecostal Cemetery, Ming's Bight, NL.
