It is with sadness that the family of the late David John Grimes announce his passing at the Lionel Kelland Hospice, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, at the age of 78 years.

Dave leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife, Nellie; daughter, Barbie (Paul); son, Perry (Wendy); grandchildren, Harley, Nicholas, Spencer, Cooper, Mallory, and James; siblings, Effie, Shirley (Robert) Ball, Colin (Marie), Barry (Ruth), Everett (Greta), Ross (Maisie), Roger (Mary Anne), and Tony (Cindy); sisters-in-law, Lucy Grimes and Mary Grimes; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He is predeceased by his parents, Fred and Winnie; siblings, Owen, Joe, Gloria, and Arlene; and parents-in-law, Tom and Jane Perry.

Public visitation will take place on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 PM and 7:00–9:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM from The Salvation Army Park Street Citadel, 27 Park Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, with Majors Weldon and Donna Hayward officiating.

Interment will follow at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Caribou Road, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.
