Grand Falls-Windsor

Obituary

It is with sadness that the family of the late David Samuel Champion announces his passing at the Lionel Kelland Hospice, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL aged 77 years.

David was a hardworking man who spent many years building a life filled with music, laughter, and wonderful memories. Throughout his working years, he worked as a truck driver for Cabot Bakery and as a baker at Tim Hortons, always bringing his own dedication and easygoing nature to whatever he did.

Music was one of David’s greatest loves. He enjoyed singing and playing music, and for 26 years, he shared his passion as a DJ at many functions and gatherings, helping to create special moments for others to enjoy. Wherever there was a concert, you could be sure David would be there, video camera in hand, capturing the music, excitement, and memories that meant so much to him.

After meeting and marrying his beloved Madelyn, the two shared a love of travelling and discovering the beauty of the world around them. Together, they enjoyed exploring new places, taking in the scenery, and making memories along the way. Of all the seasons, fall held a special place in their hearts, with its beautiful colours and peaceful charm.

David was a kind, easygoing person who got along with everyone he met. Over the many years of his life, he formed connections with so many people through his work, his music, and his everyday interactions. His friendly nature and warm personality made him someone people could easily feel comfortable around.

David will be remembered for his love of music, his passion for capturing special moments, the adventures he shared with Madelyn, and the many friendships he made throughout his life. Though he is no longer with us, the memories he created, the music he shared, and the lives he touched will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Dave leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Madelyn; daughter, Jaunita Champion; step-daughters, Stacey (Cory) Hodder, Shelly Dalton; Step-son, Travis Reid; sisters, Joan Wareham & Shirley Shallow; grandchildren, Cody Champion, Samantha Roberts, & Matthew Roberts; as well other relatives and friends.
