With loving memories and broken hearts, the family of Darryl Joseph Bowers announces his sudden tragic passing, age 56.

Darryl was a loving husband to Patti, a devoted father to Emily, and supportive stepfather to Kaitlyn & Ali Delaurier of Halifax, NS.   He was the treasured son of Mary and Allan Bowers and son in-law of Leona Harvey of Belmont, NS.

Also left to mourn are his brothers, Patrick (Wendy) of Lower Sackville, NS, Roy of Fortune Harbour, NL, Andre (Kathy) of Springdale NL, Kim Randell of Grand Falls Windsor, NL; brothers in-law, Robert Harvey of Moncton, NB, and Douglas Harvey of Belmont, NS; sister in-law, Erlene (Richard) Dereniowski of Brantford, ON.

Darryl was predeceased by father in-law, Earl Harvey; brother in-law, Clifford Randell.

An anchor to his family, Darryl was truly admired by his nephews, Andrew and Brandon Harvey, Adrian (Shauna) Dereniowski, Brandon Randell (Sarah Manuel) and Bradley Randell (Chelsea Cox); nieces Lyndsay (Caldon) Howell, Megan (Michael) Redden, Breanna Randell, Brooklyn Randell and Bethany Bowers.  Darryl was so proud of his "littles "(great nieces and nephews) CJ, Charlotte, Olivia, Lyndon, Grace, Benjamin and Lauren. Darryl was surrounded by a loving caring extended family and a multitude of friends.

Darryl Bowers was a hardworking man who lived selflessly and gave of himself and his talents generously.  Darryl would move heaven and earth to help anyone in need.   He was a tremendously kind, and truly trustworthy friend to all and a source of comfort and strength for anyone who became his acquaintance. An electrician by trade, Darryl worked for NL Housing for the last 12 years leaving a little light shining wherever he went.

Darryl thoroughly enjoyed spending his time with family and friends at Fortune Harbour, NL. He enjoyed fishing, kayaking and the many scoffs, card games, and laughs during his time there. He discovered a love of travel with Patti, and often talked about their honeymoon cruise with the other Bowers', the Dereniowski's and dear friends the Eustace's.  He really enjoyed hosting family meals, holidays and events at home with Patti.

In keeping with the COVID-19 Guidelines there will be a public visitation Friday, January 14, 2022 at 7-9 pm and Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 2-4 pm. To attend the visitation you must register by calling Sarah at 709-486-9436. Also those attending the visitation must present the NLVaxPass or proof of vaccination along with a photo ID.

The will be a private funeral service that will take place Sunday, January 16, 2022 at 2 pm from the St. Alban's Anglican Church, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL with Reverend Jeffrey Blackwood officiating.  Those attending the funeral service must present the NLVaxPass or proof of vaccination along with a photo ID. For those that are unable to attend the service it will be live streamed on the St. Alban's Anglican Facebook page.

The interment will follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Toulette Drive, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.

As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Ronald McDonald House would be greatly appreciated.
