Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clayton Maxwell Burton announces his passing. He passed away peacefully at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls - Windsor on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the age of 80 years.

Clayton leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 58 years, Donna Burton; children, Rick Burton (Carolyn), Cindy Small (Lindsay), and Gina Croft (Jamie); Grandchildren, Katie Burton (Jay), Lexie & Ryan Small, and Alex & Maci Croft; Siblings, Melvin Burton (Rita), Jeanette Burton (Ross), and Karl Burton; siblings-in-law, Audrey Burton, Richard Croucher, Frances Croucher, Sheila Freitag, Abbie Harding (Harry), and Velma Stanley; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.

Clayton is predeceased by his parents, Roland & Marie Burton; parents-in-law, Sidney & Clementine Croucher, brother,  Roy Burton; siblings-in-law – Marion Thoms, Marie Rideout, Mackenzie 'Mack' Croucher, and Duke Croucher.

Clayton enjoyed playing cards and spending his time outdoors. He spent many of his days cutting wood, on the water fishing, or berry picking. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren when they came to visit.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place.

Visitation and funeral service will remain private for family.

As expressions of sympathy donations in his memory may be made to the United Church Memorial Fund or United Church Cemetery Fund, La Scie, NL.

Funeral arrangement entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.
