Bryce Nelson Roberts, 79, of Botwood, passed away peacefully on October 8, surrounded by family. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Marilyn Roberts (née Reid)—his constant: steadfast, supportive, and the heart of the home.

Bryce was a loving and proud father to Rosalind and David (Paula), and a devoted "Pop" to Jessica (Luc), Chelsea, Amanda, and Ciara, who lit up his world. Brittany (Clark) and Jesse (Rae), Paula's children, also held a special place in his heart

Born to Nelson and Renetta Roberts, he was a brother to Yvonne Colbourne, Fronie (Ivan) Belbin, Kevin (Sheila) Roberts, Sandra (David) Peyton, Ronald (Caroline) Roberts, Sharon (Clarence) Quinlan, James (Patsy) Roberts and Helen (Junior) Budgell. He was predeceased by his sisters Betty Dawe and Patricia (Martyn) Barrett and brothers-in-law Reg Colbourne, Roy Dawe, and Jocelyn Lavoie.

Also leaving to mourn are Marilyn's sisters Joyce Mckenzie and Christine Reid, and many cherished nieces and nephews of both his and Marilyn's families.

As an electrician, Bryce spent much of his career on the road with Irving Oil, retiring after 31 years of service. After retiring, Bryce completed rotations in Alberta and then began a new chapter as a teacher. He quickly became a favorite among students, known for his patience, insight, and the genuine connections he built in the classroom.

He found joy in simple pleasures; in his garage, where hobbies and projects came to life and tools told stories. Gifted with a mechanical mind and generous spirit, he could fix nearly anything—and often did—to help a neighbor or family member in need. He took on ambitious projects: building a sawmill, skidder, windmill, cabin with hydraulic stairs, and more. These creations weren't just feats of engineering; they were sources of joy and connection for his family and friends.

Music was a lifelong passion. Bryce played bass guitar for years, sharing his talents in settings both big and small—from church orchestras to cozy gatherings with family and friends.

His hands are at rest now, but the love they gave and the work they did will never fade. Bryce will be remembered for his intelligence, kindness, humor, and the easygoing warmth that made everyone feel welcome.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff and residents of Lane's Retirement Home for their compassionate care and cherished friendship, and to Drs Jody Woolfrey and Raie Lene Kirby. Their care and support throughout his journey, made a big difference to Bryce.
