It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bennett "Ben" Chippett announce his passing at the Lionel Kelland Hospice in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.
Ben was born on August 17, 1943, in Leading Tickles, NL. It was there he met the love of his life, Jean, with whom he shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three children, creating countless memories filled with love and laughter.
Ben was a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for his family. Over the years, he worked at Abitibi-Price and later retired from Brooks Asphalt in 2007.
His love for his family was unconditional—the smile on his face whenever he was surrounded by them said it all.
Ben faced a long and courageous battle with cancer for over fifteen years, meeting every challenge with strength, determination, and grace.
He leaves to mourn with cherished memories: his beloved wife, Jean; daughter, Kim (Leonard) Newman; daughter-in-law, Natasha; grandchildren, Carla (John) Rowsell, Ransey Newman (Brooke), Katherine (Malcolm) Cheeseman, and Tristan Chippett (Halee); great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Brayden, Annabella, Emma, Rhett, Jayce, and Ivy; sister, Chattie; brother, Eric (Sandra) Chippett; and special niece, Venus, who always made sure to check in on him.
Ben is predeceased by his parents, Fredrick & Rosanna; two sons, Wilbert and Calvin; brother-in-law, James Preston.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Lionel Kelland Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion shown to Ben and his family during his time there.
The public visitation will take place Sunday, November 2, 2025 from 7-9 PM at St. Nicholas Anglican Church, Leading Tickles. NL.
The funeral service will take place Monday, November, 3, 2025 at 11 AM at St. Nicolas Anglican Church, Leading Tickles, NL.
The interment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Leading Tickles, NL.
