It is with great sadness that the family of the late Beatrice Katie Saunders announces her passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre on Monday, October 19, 2026 at the age of 92.

She is predeceased by her parents - Cambria & Bertha Packwood; brothers - John & Gordon; sisters - Lizzie Decker(Sam), Irene; parents-in-law - Garland & Alice Saunders.

Beatrice leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband - Gordon Saunders; children - Thelma Martin (Aloysius), Carl Saunders (Lorna), Perry Saunders (Gillian); grandchildren; great-grandchildren; siblings - Lindsay Packwood (Madonna); also a large circle of extended family and friends.

Public visitation will take place on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 2pm to 3pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL. also on Saturday, October 24, 2026 from 2pm-4pm & 6pm-8pm at The Salvation Army Citadel in Woodstock, NL.

Funeral Service will take place at The Salvation Army Citadel in Woodstock, NL. on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 2pm with Captain April Ward Officiating. Interment to follow.
