Andrew Joseph
Lewis
Apr 8, 1933 — May 4, 2025
Fleur de Lys
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Andrew Joseph Lewis announce his peaceful passing on May 4, 2025, at the age of 92, in his hometown of Fleur de Lys.
Andrew's passion for music shone through every time he played his accordion, bringing joy to those around him. He was a true outdoorsman who found joy in the simple things—fishing, hunting, cutting wood, and spending time in nature. He was never happier than when he was surrounded by the wilderness he loved or the family he cherished. His greatest pride was his children and grandchildren, who will carry on his legacy of hard work, quiet strength, and love for the land.
Andrew was predeceased by his parents, Jane and Bernard; parents-in-law, Samuel and Emily Randell; his son, Wade; his siblings, Jack (Cynthia), Gerard (Irene); brother-in-law, Peter Ballett; sisters, Elizabeth (Michael Dempsey), Mary Tobin, and Theresa Noftall (Stanley).
Andrew was a devoted husband, having shared 62 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife. He leaves behind to mourn, his wife Shirley; his children; Georgina (Tom Walsh), David (Darlene), Shawn (Lisa), Joyce (Dave Canning), Plemon (Tracy), Norman (Bernadette); daughter-in-law Debbie; his brother, Elias; sister Susan Ballett; 18 grandchildren, William, Emily, Douglas, Bruce, Reva, Natasha, Dillon, Brittany, Kyle, Justin, Travis, Kristen, Cody, Alex, Mitchell, Christopher, Brad and Nicole; 10 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends who will remember him with love and fondness.
A private family funeral service will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Baie Verte, NL on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 11:00am, where we will gather to honour his life and celebrate the memories we hold dear.
