It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Aloysius Bernard Matthews announces his passing from Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at the age of 63 years.

Left with fond and loving memories are his children, Robert Matthews (Charmaine Payne), Priscilla Jones, Roxanne Giles (Chad Ricketts), A.J. Matthews, Nicole Matthews (Darrell Sacrey) and Christina Matthews; grandchildren, Ashton, Kyra, Blake, Sheridan, Miley, Zoey, Brandon, Colby, Noah, Cody, Jesse and Parker; siblings, Gerald Matthews (Leonie), Rose Matthews, Patrick Matthews (Anne Matthews), Loyola Matthews (Cordella), Bernadette O'Driscoll (Michael), Michael Matthews (Betty-Lou), Barry Matthews (Carmelita) and Stephen Matthews (Leanne), along with a large number of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Aloysius is predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Nora Matthews; 3 infant siblings; brothers, Anthony Matthews, Bernard Matthews and Lawrence Matthews Jr.; sister, Viola Matthews; brother-in-law, Ignatius Matthews.

At the family's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service, but rather a private celebration of Aloysius' life at a later date.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.
