It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Agnes Matthews announces her passing from the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Care Centre on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the age of 90 years.

Agnes is predeceased by her husband – Gregory Matthews; son – Donald Matthews; daughters - Michelle and Mary Matthews; parents – James and Catherine Sullivan; siblings – Ronald Sullivan (Elizabeth), Jeremiah Sullivan (Margaret), Elizabeth Sullivan (John T) and Johnny Sullivan.

Left with fond and loving memories are her children - Anne Marie (Kevin), Gerard (Violet), Philomena (Dave), Alicia (Johno), Rosalind (James), Diane (Barry), Paul (Cheryl), Dave (Betty), Sheila (Sean), Glenda (Eric) and Angie (Greg); grandchildren - Michelle, Sarah, Laura, Jessica, Amanda, Melissa, Mark, Jessica, Matthew, Gregory, Julia, Sam, Jordan, Olivia, Sara, David, Hannah and Jackson; 16 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and friends.

The public visitation will take place on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM from St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Brent's Cove, NL.  A rosary service will take place at 6:30 pm, followed by a wake service at 7:00pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday October 28, 2025  from St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Brent's Cove, NL at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow from St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Cemetery, Brent's Cove, NL

As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations may be made to St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Cemetery, Brent's Cove, NL.
