Life Legacy
Shannon Fredrick Charles Simms, longtime resident of Grande Prairie, Alberta, and passed away in Grande Prairie on Monday, February 20, 2012 at the age of 34 years.
Shannon was born October 13, 1977 in Grand Falls, Windsor, Newfoundland. He was raised in Bay d’Espoir, Newfoundland in his early years and then spent time in Port aux Choix, Newfoundland and Hay River, Northwest Territories. Shannon worked as a truck driver but spent the last 5 years working at Canfor in Grande Prairie. He loved to play and listen to music and was an avid sports fan.
Shannon will be sadly missed by his wife Colleen (Cramm); mom Virtue and dad Charles; sister Germaine (Peter) and nephew Samuel and niece Keira; Mamie Manuel (Colleen’s grandmother); Doreen and Robert Cramm (mother and father-in-law).
He was predeceased by Fredrick and Maisie Willmott (maternal grandparents); Charles and Evelyn Simms (paternal grandparents).
Public visitation will take place Friday, February 24, 2012 at 7-9 pm, Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 2-4 and 7-9 pm from Botwood Funeral Home, 147 Commonwealth Drive, Botwood, NL. The funeral service will take place Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 2:30 pm from Jubliee Pentecostal Tabernacle with Pastors Fraser Roberts and Elaine Rideout officiating. Interment at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Botwood, NL. No flowers by request, memorial donations can be made to the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Botwood Funeral Home.
